Ex-NFLer Brandon Barr saves man from car in furious train accident

The heroic act of a former NFL defensive lineman was straight out of an action film.

Brandon Barr, who spent time with three NFL teams, rescued a man from a fire after being hit by a train on Thursday. East Idaho News reported.

While driving on Highway 20 in St. Anthony, Idaho, around 5:45 pm, Blair saw a train following a truck and explosion. The former chief, Raider and Eagle, called 911 and made their way to the truck after hearing a sound inside. Blair told of the paper that he made a conscious decision because the man urgently needed help.

“I ran to the window and saw the dripping, hot flames inside the truck,” Barre said. “I could see a man in a seat belt and was able to get in and get away from him. He was talking, and I told him we had to get out of here now.”

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Blair climbed into the truck, grabbed Steve Jenson and ejected the 25-year-old man from the back window. Jenson was in stable condition at a local hospital early Friday. According to ESPN.

“We drove away, and within seconds, the fire on the roof fell inside, and the entire seat and taxi went up in flames,” said 36-year-old Barr.

The former Oregon standout went indirectly and signed with the majors in 2011. Barr played 21 NFL games and retired in 2016 after two seasons with the Raiders and one with the Eagles. Baer believes that her being there was not a coincidence.

“All I can say is that this man was going to live. I am a man of faith, and I have learned to listen to your gut and the signal you get.” God wanted him to live. Things a million different directions. I could go, but things worked on their behalf. “
