You get a kicker! You get a kicker! You get a kicker! *Insert Oprah GIF here.* Since Nick Folk departed from the Jets after the 2016 season, it’s been a wild ride for Jets kickers.

A year of Chandler Catanzaro, a year of Jason Myers and then mayhem after the 2018 season. Kaare Vedvik (1 game), Sam Ficken, Sergio Castillo, Chase McLaughlin (1 game), Matt Ammendola, Alex Kessman and now Eddy Pineiro. Seven kickers in three years is unheard of, and the Jets will need to resolve this issue in the offseason. For now, it’s on to Pineiro in hopes he can be halfway decent for a month.

To dissect much more than kicking, we bring you a new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and yours truly. We preview Jets-Saints and break down the long injury list for Gang Green’s free agent class and roster as a whole. Former Jets safety and MSG Network host Erik Coleman dropped by for a good conversation on this defense, rookie coaching and memories of his 2005 AFC Divisional Round heartbreaking loss in Pittsburgh after Doug Brien’s missed field goal.

Gang’s All Here Podcast with Jake & Coz:

  • COREY DAVIS/INJURIES: Corey Davis is out for the year as he gets core muscle surgery. Davis joins Carl Lawson, LaMarcus Joyner and more on the list of Jets free agents that got hurt this season and missed time. With not much depth on the roster, the Jets have been depleted across the board.
  • SAGA OF JETS KICKERS: We go through the long list of Jets kickers after they signed Eddy Pineiro to take over duties for Alex Kessman this week. Coz explains what happened with Nick Folk and kickers of the past, and why they did not come back to the Jets.
  • JETS-SAINTS PREVIEW: Alvin Kamara is likely back for the Saints. Can Taysom Hill and his mallet finger take down the Jets? In a stunner, me and Coz both are picking the Jets to win this game at MetLife Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Erik Coleman Interview:
Former Jets safety, MSG Network host of “The Betting Exchange”, host of CBS’ “Jets Late Night,” Jets pre and postgame analyst

  • DEFENSE/WILSON: Combo of players and coach, lots of growing pains. Defense has to help rookie QB out. Zach is getting better every week.
  • WINNING MENTALITY: Tells a good story about Ty Law when he came to the Jets and his winning mentality coming from the Patriots. The Jets need to bring in more players that come from a winning standard, like C.J. Mosley.
  • 2005 PLAYOFF LOSS: Looking back to Doug Brien’s missed kick in Pittsburgh in the 2005 playoffs and what could have been.
