Harry Maguire has admitted that Manchester United was “edgy” during their second leg defeat to Roma, while comparing the competition to a basketball match due to its end-to-end nature.
United trailed 3–2 at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night, but still managed an 8-5 lead in the Europa League final based on the total courtesy of their 6–2 win at Old Trafford last week.
Maguire was relieved that the Red Devils were able to qualify for the showpiece after an under-par performance in Rome, and edged out Edison Cavani for special praise for his two-goal showing.
