The Jets may have lost the fight to the No. 1 pick for the Jaguars, but they still have plenty of buying power in the 2021 NFL Draft. They are one of three teams with several first-round selections with the Jaguars and Dolphins, and it seems like they are focused on finding a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick.
Right now, it seems that BYU’s Zach Wilson is leading the charge for that spot, but anything could be in the lead until the 2021 NFL Draft, especially with good passers including Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Mack Jones in groups.
The Jets focus on the quarterback only at this offset will not be required. He needs to recreate his one-time strong defense and shine somewhat on offense. He said, if he gets his franchise quarterback, he should be positioned to improve quickly on that side of the ball, if all thanks to his solid offensive line and receiving duct.

Jets need NFL draft
- Quarterback: Sam Darnold struggled a lot last year and averaged 13 interceptions per year to start his NFL career. Zach Wilson is a replacement for the Jets to consider with the No. 2 pick.
- Cornerback: The Jets need a true No. 1 corner to defend themselves. They could target a start in the draft.
- rushing back: Will the Jets rely on L’Oreal Perrin as a starter in 2021? Maybe, but adding some talent to pair with him and Tevin Coleman would be a wise move.
- Edge rusher: The Jets added Carl Lawson well to this offshoot due to his lack. Even after losing Jordan Jenkins in free agency, they could still use Running Mate for him.
- tight end: Chris Herndon is running out of time to fulfill his potential. It is time for the Jets to consider adding some true competition for him and veterans Ryan Griffin and Tyler Croft.
