In a scary scene, Jets safety Elijah Riley was initially motionless after a collision in Sunday’s game against the Dolphins, but he “checked out fine,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said after the Jets’ loss to the Dolphins.
Riley will travel back home with the team, Saleh said, after being ruled out for the rest of the game with a neck injury.
Riley eventually moved his hands and feet, and gave a thumbs up, before being carted off on a stretcher. He was injured during a 19-yard catch and run by Dolphins running back Duke Johnson.
The 23-year-old defensive back was signed by the Jets off the Eagles’ practice squad on Nov. 9. Riley attended Army and hails from Port Jefferson, N.Y.
