A party to celebrate soul star Leon Bridges’ new track turned, appropriately enough, into “a massive dance party.”
The singer danced his way into the holiday spirit by celebrating the release of his new Amazon Original song, “Purple Snowflakes,” at Ludlow House in New York City Tuesday night.
Bridges, 32, hosted the bash with the tech giant, encouraging guests “to celebrate the holidays with cocktails, food and dancing.” And Bridges, who recently received Grammy nominations for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Album, did just that.
“He didn’t get on the mic [to sing or give a toast], but he was on the dance floor all night. It turned into a massive dance party,” one party goer told Page Six.
DJ Very Advanced spun hits from Ginuwine, Usher, Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Migos and Drake. Guests were served tequila cocktails inspired by “Purple Snowflake,” which is a Marvin Gaye remake. The private Lower East Side club was decorated with wild grasses, purple cacti and neon purple lights to honor the song and Bridges’ Texas roots.
Bridges was decked out in vintage Gucci for the party, completing his look with a new custom gold grill and Wrangler jeans. Insiders told us that the singer-songwriter has inked a deal with the latter fashion brand, but it has yet to be announced.
Guests at the bash took home swag that included denim jackets from the brand, an Amazon echo dot, Leon Bridges incense, lavender earl gray tea from Brooklyn Tea, Boy Smells Rhubarb Smoke candles and a limited edition vinyl.
The soirée ended around 10 p.m., but we’re told Bridges kept the party going upstairs, where he continued to dance into the wee hours.
