Manchester City set Champions League record with semifinal win vs PSG

Manchester City became the most winning English team in a singles Champions League season with a semi-final second leg win over Paris St Germain on Tuesday.

The 2–0 (4–1 total) result earned them a record 11 wins in the competition in this campaign, and their current run of seven consecutive wins has also given the best to any other English side.

Manager Pep Guardiola broke his semifinal hoodoo in the process, moving from the last four for the first time in 2010–11, and his men are now claiming the position that the Carabao Cup has already been lifted and from the premiere A win is sitting away the title of the league.

Manchester City have not lost in the Champions League this season, with the only draw points coming with Porto during the group stage.

Winning in style

After a difficult opening of 45 minutes in the first leg, Manchester City dominated PSG in all aspects in the subsequent three halves of the tie.

In fact, they held the PSG in the second leg without a shot at goal, the first time they had been in the Champions League with the French giants in at least 17 years.
