Melissa Gorga yanks husband Joe off stage after bombing comedy set

Melissa Gorga pulled her husband, Joe Gorga, off stage as he bombed during a stand-up set earlier this month, according to footage obtained by TMZ.

Joe – who has spent the last month traveling across the country on his first stand up comedy tour – appeared to fall flat with his routine during a recent show at Governor’s Comedy Club in Long Island.

“Joe was sick that day,” his manager told TMZ. “He had a cold. He took Sudafed and then had a couple of Scotches. It just hit him when he went on stage. We came back the next night and he made a joke about it.”

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star’s set went south when he began telling a joke about his friend, but it didn’t make much sense. The audience seemed to catch on that Joe wasn’t having his best performance, but they entertained him by encouraging him to keep going.

Joe repeated variations of the line, “Are you guys ready?” and “We all gotta be f–king ready,” as the audience cheered him on. After a cussing rant, Melissa joined her husband onstage and explained the situation.

“I don’t know what they gave you backstage babe, but I got a feeling….” she began saying until she stopped Joe from taking another sip of his drink.

The “RHONJ” star continued telling the audience, “I swear to you, usually he cracks us up, he has a routine that makes us all laugh in tears every night – that I promise you.”

Melissa then ushered her husband off stage saying, “Come on, let’s go,” as a reluctant Joe followed and the audience cheered and laughed anyway.

Joe kicked off his comedy tour at Carolines on Broadway in New York City on Oct. 27. Many of the “RHONJ” cast members – including his sister Teresa Giudice and her fiancé Luis “Louie” Ruelas – laughed the night away at his comedy debut.

Joe’s rep didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. Governor’s Comedy Club also didn’t get back to us.
