NBA Reveals All-Star Skills, 3-Point, Sting Participants

Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Phoenix’s Devin Booker have been 3-point champions over the All-Star weekend, and they will try to win the trophy again on Sunday.

The NBA on Tuesday revealed 15 players who would participate in other on-court events other than the All-Star Game in Atlanta, with most of them pulling off double duty between those contests and the game.

The Boston duo of Curry, Booker, Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum, Boston’s Zac LaVine and Utah’s Donovan Mitchell – all of them All-Stars – will have six contestants in the 3-point contest.

Dallas All-Stars Luka Doncic, Indiana’s Domantus Sabonis, New York’s Julius Randall, Orlando’s Nicola Vovecik and Phoenix’s Chris Paul will be five of the six entrants in the skills competition. He will join Robert Covington of Portland, the NBA’s only current player who historically graduated from Black College and University.

Covington went to Tennessee State. HBCUs will be a major part of All-Star night, and the league has previously announced that scholarship funds that will support black students receive at least $ 2.5 million in proceeds from events in Atlanta.

The only event that will not involve any All-Stars is the Dunk Contest, in which contestants for the first time will include Anferni Simmons of Portland, Cassius Stanley of Indiana and Obi Toppin of New York.

The dunk competition will be two rounds and will be judged by five former champions: Hall of Famer Dominic Wilkins, Dee Brown, Jason Richardson, Josh Smith and Spud Webb. It will be held in halftime of the All-Star Game, while the skills competition and 3-point competition will be pregame.

All-Star nights will have on-court representation of only 18 teams, much less than usual for reasons such as the epidemic, the one-night nature of the event and the elimination of the Rising Stars game this season.

None of last season’s individual event winners – dunk champion Derrick Jones Jr., who was with Miami at the time and now with Portland, Miami’s skills champion Bam Adebayo and 3-point champion Buddy Hiddle of Sacramento – defended this season. Returning to

There is no one attending All-Star night shows in Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Memphis, Miami, Minnesota, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, San Antonio and Toronto.
