The Nets picked the LSU Tigers star with the No. 27 pick of the 2021 NBA Draft on Thursday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The 19-year-old guard led the SEC in points per game (23) as a freshman.
At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Thomas is regarded as an elite scorer who piles up the shots and points.
