The driver killed the man and the dog in a hit-and-run while fleeing from the second accident

A Georgia driver killed a man and his dog as he was fleeing the scene of a separate hit-and-run incident.

Dominic Houston was driving a 38-year-old Chevy Malibu when he allegedly saw 25-year-old Michael Farmer and his dog – a jackfruit named Bruce – outside of Atlanta on Sunday. Sandy Springs Police said.

Investigators found out that the same vehicle left the scene of a nearby collision just minutes earlier, and that the driver was speeding when the driver allegedly killed the pedestrian and his pooch.

“The first incident was running at a high speed when he collided with a pedestrian and his dog; Fatal injuries to both, ”the press release read.

The vehicle was traced back to another Atlanta suburb, about 50 miles to the south, where Houston was arrested.

Houston was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, careless driving and hit-and-run.

Police said the suspect is awaiting trial at the Fulton County Jail.
