TAMPA – Aaron Hicks, whose girlfriend Cheyenne Woods is the niece of Tiger Woods, said the golfer’s family is primarily concerned with making sure he is able to resume a normal life after his serious car accident .
“I think right now, with everything going on with the surgery and stuff, we’re trying to make sure that he recovers,” the Yankees center fielder said Thursday.
“Making sure that he can be a father again and enjoy and play and play with his children is what’s important right now.”
Hicks called the news of the accident “extremely frightening”.
“I’ve only met Tiger once,” Hicks said. “Cheyenne is a family member, so she wanted to make sure he was okay and I think anyone would want to.”
Woods, 45, suffered an injury to his right leg and extensive injury to his right leg in a rollover accident outside Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Doctors at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center described Woods as having “significant orthopedic injuries” in a statement released after his emergency surgery on Tuesday.
He faces a long road to recovery, including lengthy physical therapy and more operations on his shattered leg, medical experts have said.
