Britney Spears rounded out her 40th birthday celebrations with a visit to New York City’s iconic gay bar Pieces. Spies tell Page Six exclusively that the “Toxic” singer was there Sunday night with one of her “Piece of Me” dancers.
The “Circus” singer was dressed in an oversized teddy coat and had her hair pulled back into a messy bun while trying to keep a low-profile with sunglasses. We’re told her fiancé, Sam Asghari, wasn’t with her, but perhaps he was resting following their getaway international vacation.
The “Oops!…I Did It Again” pop star escaped LA for a trip with Asghari in honor of her milestone birthday — all while simultaneously celebrating the fact that she could jet away at all following her freedom from her conservatorship.
“Oh the precious joy today !!!,” Spears began on Instagram last week. “Me and my fiancé are so excited to be going away …. as you can see I’m not 800 pounds like the paps have me in pics ?? … I’ve been working out and it’s real … whatever ??♀️?? !!!! God thank you for being able to go out of the country !!!! I am blessed !!!!”
She added in a separate post honoring her big day, “I’m so blessed and grateful !!!!” Spears wrote on Instagram in celebration of her special day. “Tears of joy today ? … Thank you for all the b-day wishes ???? !!!!”
Spears has been easing her way back into public life after 13 years under the control of her father but doesn’t appear to be ready to fully immerse herself, as she recently declined an invitation to Paris Hilton’s wedding.
“She’s emotional,” a source told Page Six as to why she likely passed on the bash. “She needs some time to get used to her new way of living. She is adjusting to her new existence.”
The “Gimme More” songstress first dipped her toes in post-conservatorship life by enjoying a celebratory glass of champagne with Asghari at Catch LA.
“I actually got my first glass of champagne at the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen last night,” Spears shared via Instagram at the time. “I’m celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months. I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!”
